FROM THE FOUNDER
Everyone wants to feel confident in their clothes, and fashion is supposed to be fun. Just like most women, I already had a love/hate relationship with shopping, enjoying the pursuit of dresses with the girls and despising needing to find jeans. Then, during university I started learning about the pitfalls of fast fashion and the negative effects on people and our planet. That added a whole new element to shopping, as my passion for finding ethical and eco alternatives developed. I discovered that it can really take a lot of time to find options that check all the boxes (especially in Canada!): stylish, high-quality and good fit, ethically made, eco-friendly, and easy to find.
The good news? I've found some incredible brands that are kicking ass at changing the way fashion is produced. I wanted to bring them together for you in an easy-to-shop collection, so that you don't have to spend all your time vetting brands (let's face it, who has time for that?!). Let me do it for you - I've chosen the most comfortable and stylish options for Azura Bay that also support your values: ethical production, local options, artisan & handmade production, Fair Trade and eco-friendly fabrics and production processes as much as possible. Additionally, most of our brands are woman-owned. Beyond the brands, Azura Bay is committed to choosing green practices as much as we can as explained below, in packaging and promotion choices. Finally, when you make a purchase, Azura Bay will donate a portion of the proceeds from your order to one of three organizations of your choice (learn more on our Giving Back page). I will continue to add new styles & brands, so keep checking in.
Thank you for shopping with us!
We are always looking for ways to make our business activities more environmentally friendly. Azura Bay uses 100% recycled boxes, (smaller orders are still being sent with the few remaining 100% recycled and recyclable poly mailers until they're all gone - waste note want not, right?! :) ), and recycled tissue paper that are all made in the United States by EcoEnclose and we have just launched *NEW* compostable mailers from Better Packaging Co as well.
We seek recycled content and eco-friendly inks in the rest of our packaging, promotional materials and stickers as much as possible. Check out our full #zerowasteJuly blog post that covers all our packaging and low waste office strategies!
Cosabella, meaning “beautiful thing,” was founded in 1983 by the Italian Valeria Campello, and grew to include her husband and children as the company's directors. The products are meticulously crafted to fit perfectly, with seams that lay flat and using super soft Italian fabric.

Halifax Paper HeartsHalifax Paper Hearts is the most adorable print company based in the East Coast of Canada, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. When we discovered their cute cards we loved the design and the philosophy behind their company:
- We believe in fairy tales, snail mail & cultivating closeness.
- Everything we make is heart-made, printed in small batches by a locally owned printing house, and hand-packaged with love, care & salty air on the East Coast of Canada.
- Our cards are made using forestry practices that are responsible, fair & environmentally sustainable.
- We donate a portion of our proceeds annually to a local charity.

Only HeartsOnly Hearts began in 1978 on Columbus Avenue in New York City as a tiny boutique dedicated to all things heart shaped. It quickly became an iconic NYC brand, and owner Helena Stuart started designing her own lingerie. Now partnered with her daughter, Kaya Stuart, the Only Hearts brand is a global favourite, seen on the hottest celebrities and in every major magazine. All products continue to be manufactured in the NYC garment district except for their organic cotton line, which is ethically produced in Peru.
Vitamin A is inspired by travel, modern art, and the cult of global style-setters who collect their designs (Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, and Halle Berry, to name a few). They're all about sexy, sun-kissed California beauty. The brand is designed and produced in California, and most designs use EcoLux™, an innovative superfine matte jersey made with 85% recycled nylon fiber. Designer Amahlia Stevens’ SoCal upbringing informs her laid-back modernist aesthetic and passion for sustainability.
Based in the US, but working with farms in India, PACT goes to great lengths to make sure their entire supply chain, from the growing and harvesting of the organic cotton to the final sewing and all the processes in between, are as clean and responsible as possible.
- Hand-picked organic cotton is grown without any nasty pesticides or fertilizers. The cotton is grown and harvested by FairTrade farmer-run family cooperatives
- Socks are knit in a factory powered by wind where they use highly efficient machinery to reduce energy use. Composted rice husks are used as an energy source in their apparel factory
- They use non-toxic water based dyes to get those amazing colours
- Every factory is GOTS certified (the highest environmental and social standards in apparel manufacturing)
- They use recycled paper and FSC controlled wood sources for their packaging
After all that, their clothes and undies are also super cute and feel incredible on as well.
